In October, Mr. Nicholl and the 12th grade, traveled to Mt. Auburn Cemetery during their Transcendentalists main lesson extension day. The group visited the beautiful grounds and the cenotaph of Margaret Fuller Ossoli and walked up Washington Tower to get a tremendous view of Boston, Cambridge, Watertown, and the surrounding area.
Additional main lesson extension day outings that also took place in October include:
- During our Anatomy and Physiology main lesson, Mr. Booth took the 9th grade to the MIT museum to view the beautiful brain exhibit. The Beautiful Brain: The Drawings of Santiago Ramón y Cajal include approximately 80 of Cajal’s drawings, many rarely before seen in the U.S. These historical works are complemented by contemporary visualizations, many from MIT laboratories, bringing to view new understandings of the brain, enabled by developing technologies in the field of brain and cognitive science.
- For a hands-on exploration of the laws of Physics Mechanics, Mr. Oliver and Ms. Swanson took the 10th grade to Launch Trampoline Park - fun was had by all!
