On Monday, June 3rd the seniors performed Shakespeare’s romantic comedy "Much Ado About Nothing" for the Waldorf High School community. This performance was not only the culmination of weeks of rehearsing but of the entire four year Waldorf curriculum.
Under the guidance of local actress and Waldorf High School parent Demetra Tseckares and a Student Director and Leadership team composed of Portia Restuccia, Willow Stoner and Anna Zou, the students took responsibility for all aspects of this performance and main lesson block. In her director’s notes Ms. Tseckares remarks that in "Much Ado About Nothing" Friar Francis reminds the audience that we don’t appreciate what we have until it is gone. This makes it a perfect choice for high school seniors who are about to leave a place and people who have held them, sometimes against their will, in order to help launch them into the world. The student leadership team commented that this play which is full of bonding, fighting, laughing, crying and love is an accurate reflection of the class community that they have built over their four years at Waldorf High School.
