From Heather Stewart, Director of Admissions

Dear Families and Students,

Thank you for your interest in Waldorf High School of Massachusetts Bay! I’ve been both a parent and a teacher in Waldorf Schools and  joined the Waldorf High School in January 2020. I am a musician and have taught in private, public and international schools. The Waldorf philosophy connects with all of my interests: the arts, yoga, love of nature and the outdoors, travel and adventure, and most importantly, my lifelong calling to contribute to making the world a more peaceful place,  especially for children.

We are a small and diverse Waldorf school for students in grades 9 - 12. We provide a well-rounded and wholesome education with a focus on rigorous academics, creativity, and connection to nature. Our school environment is nurturing and relaxed, encouraging the individual to align to one’s true self while providing an intellectual and artistic foundational curriculum that sparks and supports the gifts and strengths of each unique student.

Application Process

Our aim for the application process is to be a welcoming and positive opportunity for students and families to learn about our school and Waldorf education. Our selection process is based on providing the best educational experience for all students while building a community that is kind, diverse, innovative and creative. Our application process includes a school visit and creative writing and art prompts.

Transferring to Waldorf High School

Our small and nurturing environment also makes mid-year transitions possible, so please get in touch with us if you are interested in transferring to WHS for the current school year.

Inquire about applying

If you are considering applying, we would love to get to know you! Please call 617-489-6600 or submit an inquiry form to connect with our admissions team.

Get to know us

The best way to get a sense of our school is to visit and meet with Cedar Oliver, our School Director. We offer tours with pandemic protocols in place. We welcome interested students and families to tour our building and as part of the application process, we invite prospective families to connect with our school community through conversations with current and alumni families. Learn more about visiting here.

Completing the Application

You can apply online or use our paper forms.  Our application gives students and families opportunities to tell us about themselves so we can understand each prospective student as a unique individual. After we receive your application, we will arrange meetings with faculty and current students to continue the process.

Tailored Tuition

We recognize that private school tuition is a significant financial commitment, and keeping our exceptional education accessible to families of all income levels is a fundamental value of our school.  Our Tailored Tuition program aims to make school affordable for all families.
